a blog about my life as a wife, mommy of 2 kids, baker, cook, seeker of all things creative, and follower of Christ. Life always feels crazy and like it will never slow down, but I get to do what I've always wanted: make life an adventure, at home, with my kids and husband.

update my buffet
Come on people, I know you have an opinion! Tell me what you would do to this buffet to update it!
erin, hi! thanks for commenting on my blog! i found my way over here and definitely have a thought about your buffet. :)
so it is built in? it's really cool! your house looks lovely.
how would you feel about painting the buffet? and not just white, but painting it a color? the room is a great neutral and continuing the color [like you have on the window treatments] might be just the thing. plus, you have wood floors, so painting it could help it stand out from them. home depot has some really pretty martha stewart colors that are soft and not too bright. if you need inspiration pics, i've got a whole stash of images that show furniture painted a color. i'm curious to see what you decide :) have fun!
I would paint it to. A lighter color....and then make it look worn, antique like. I have found a really easy way to do this (and inexpensive way) is when the paint is ALMOST dry, use one of those green scrubbies and rub over the sides and corners and over some of the flatter parts too.
My best advice is get inspiration! Here is one of my FAVORITE design blogs! The have amazing looks into some fabulous houses and a before&after and a D.I.Y page. There's some good ideas on there.
